Just a little "holiday sillies" from us to you! Be sure to check out the Frankie Lemmon Facebook page over the holidays. Ms. Jen and Ms. Hanvey are going to be posting some videos of fun activities to do over the break. See you at the Santa party!
....that's what Frankie Lemmon is made of :) Friends and family it has been a SWEET week...literally! If you noticed your little ones were a little more active than usual it is probably all the fun treats this past week! Friday we decorated our classroom gingerbread house and of course everyone had a taste of candy!. Monday, we had a wonderful group come and donate their time and cookies to the school and helped all the kids to decorate. Today, in language group we created a gingerbread boy with Ms. Hanvey which of course ran away (as the story goes) and we had to look to find him. Don't worry, in all this fun and excitement we have found plenty of ways to incorporate early learning. Everything from identifying colors and shapes to fine motor and language skills to decorate! I have taken SO MANY pictures and if you can believe it this is only about 1/2 of them! Enjoy them below :) J PS...hidden in some of the pictures is our own classroom "little elf." He hides daily and reports back to Santa, the kids love it! The Fabulous 5s are officially ready for the holidays! Our tree is up, the tinsel is out, and gingerbread children are running about! Check out below all of our fun activities for the holidays. It is amazing how just adding a little sparkle and "ho, ho, ho" can get kids re-excited about everything! See below how we have changed around our classroom. The writing center that was a little neglected (by the kiddos) the end of November is suddenly alive with holiday cards, stickers, and a mailbox--now a favorite. Ms. Jenn (OT) also had a fun "re-take" on things. She is working with lots of the kids on coloring in small pictures and had noticed they had gotten a little "tired" of normal coloring. So she brought in washable nail polish to let the kids "practice" in a different way. As you can see below, it was REALLY MOTIVATING! So just a little inspiration and encouragement because even what seems like the small monotonous things in life can be turned into learning activities for our little ones. Another reason why Bass and I have the MOST AMAZING job in the world, never a dull moment in here :) Check out some of our other "gingerbread" activities from this week below. (PS--Mark we missed you this week, hope you had fun with grandma!) |
