Well, it isn't really the "dog days of summer" yet but I guess you could say it the "dog days" of the school year. Can you all believe there is less than 2 weeks left of this school year! I feel like the last few weeks especially have flown by. One of the fun things that the kids look forward to every month is our therapy dogs coming. We have Rosie who would come and visit us at Hayes Barton and some still now at our new location. However, more frequently we have Molly and Daisy pictured below. The kids enjoy getting to pet the dogs, walk the dogs, and of course interact with their owners too. It is a great communication starter as well as neat for the children to learn the proper way to handle and take care of pets and especially how to approach other people's pets. Enjoy!
Hello Everyone! Thanks to all of you who could come out for Dads and Donuts! It was such a fun and delicious time as you can see from the pictures below. Those of you who were unable to attend we missed you and hope you liked your little treasure that your little one brought home for you :) The school year end is coming upon us but the classroom is still busy with excitement, playing, learning, and fun! Check out some of the pictures from this week and see what all these little sweethearts have been doing. My favorite from below is three of them taking a "siesta in the sun" I guess that a nap sounded better than a picnic on that Monday :) Last Thursday ended up being a wet and rainy day. Although we missed being able to go outside and bask in the sun and play with our water toys we found plenty to do inside. The bounce house was set up, skateboards, and trikes were out and lots of laughter could be heard from all the fun activities. On Friday, the children worked hard to make muffins to honor the moms. Additionally they shared their beautiful plants they planted with the Raleigh Green Thumb Garden club. There little fingerprints on the outside along with "I love you, Mom" made it a very special gift. This week they have been working on a special surprise for all the dads. Come on out Friday at 3 for "Donuts with Dads." May is here and we are studying flowers, gardens, and bugs! The bugs have been especially exciting to all the kids. Pictured below you will see some of our new centers set up. We are also enjoying this gorgeous weather! The water table has been a fun addition to our outside time now that the warmer weather has arrived. We have been enjoying reading Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar this week. The kids have been practicing sequencing and retelling the story. A friendly reminder if you have not yet sent in a "summer" change of clothes please do so and we will send the winter set back home. Also remember this Friday is Muffins for Moms at 3:00 on the playground! Look forward to seeing you there :)
